Electro Power Company Limited is developing the 44-MW Bhotekoshi-1 Hydropower Project (HPP) in the Sindhupalchowk district of Bagmati Province, located in Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality. The project has a catchment area spanning 2210 km², with both the intake and powerhouse sites situated within Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality. This run-of-river (R-o-R) project is designed at a 40% probability of exceedance (Q40).
